I am a big fan of smoothies, especially after a great workout! A spinach smoothie, however, did not seem appetizing to me. I mean seriously, adding spinach to a fruit filled beverage does not sound appetizing to me.
But after reading great reviews from other Green Monster enthusiasts I finally gave in and added spinach to my smoothie for the first time- and I am hooked! Adding spinach to your smoothie not only gives it an awesome color, it is such a great way to sneak some veggies into your diet. You can see the spinach, but you can’t taste it- I promise 🙂 .
Peanut Butter and Jelly Green Monster Smoothie
- 1 banana
- 2 cups of frozen strawberries
- 3 cups of spinach
- 2 scoops of vanilla whey protein
- 1 tablespoon of flax seed meal
- 1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter
- 1 1/4 cup vanilla soy milk
- 4 ice cubes
Just toss everything in a blender until its nice and smooth. YUM!
